Paedophile who tried to get prostitute to supply him with girls jailed after police ‘sting’

A paedophile trapped by an online police “sting” was told by a judge that his conduct “leaves me to think you are an ingrained paedophile”.

Nicholas Jordan, 47, of Goodwood Grove, Leeswood, was jailed for three years after admitting that he attempted to incite a child to engage in sexual activity, and three charges relating to nearly 300 indecent images of children.

Judge David Hale at Mold crown court imposed a two year extended licence period because he came “within that category of dangerousness”.

The illegal images were of the least harmful category and included cartoons generated online.

Andrew Green, prosecuting, said Jordan’s record went back to 2006, when he was convicted of asking a Liverpool prostitute if she could provide girls between four and eight so he could take pornographic photographs.

He described Jordan as “a registered sex offender with a longstanding sexual interest in children”.

The present offences were committed after an undercover officer from West Midlands Police set up an online discussion forum, claiming he had a daughter of 10, and Jordan responded.

“The younger the better, tots to grannies,” Jordan said, with his main interest being the girl.

Mr Green said: “We say what he anticipated was full sexual activity with this child.”

A rendezvous was arranged at a pub outside Mold and Jordan was arrested after he had twice driven by.

Judge Hale imposed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order. He told Jordan that on the day he went to the pub car park expecting to meet the child he “anticipated, hoped and possibly feared she would be there”.
