How To See Who’s Been Talking To Your Child Online
If your computer uses MS Internet Explorer, you can check the browser history by pressing the “control” button and the “H” at the same time (CTRL+H). This will show all the websites that the computer has visited, arranged by date. You can click on each website link to see what pages in the website were visited, and then you can visit those pages.
This list below is for parents and children, and shows ‘short hand’ texting and online abbreviations. Please be aware of some of the phrases and codes used. Sexual Predators are well aware of these codes and regulary use them. Some you will know, others you may not. Keep one step ahead.
Most online paedophiles are sneaky and cunning. They’ll wait until they’re sure that your child is alone. some paedophiles will “groom” a child for months before they initiate sexual advances.
* AoA: Short for “age of attraction” meaning the age groups of children they are attracted to
* MAA: Minor attracted adult (used in reverse of the word “paedophile”, though it is the same and places the child as responsible for the abuse)
* AoC: Age of (legal) consent
* CL: ChildLover/paedophile
* GL: Girl Lover/Attracted to girls
* BL: BoyLover/Attracted to boys
* YF: Young Friend, used when speaking about a victim
* CP: Child Porn (Which could mean anything from photos of naked or half-naked children to photos of actual child rape/torture)
* LG: Little Girl
* LB: Little Boy
* GM: Girl Moment – which is time spent with a young girl (that can either be a passing second consisting of nothing more than a glance or a smile, or a lengthy visit with a girl)
* BM: Boy Moment – same as Girl Moment
Then there are the chats, or message boards:
* CG: known as Common Ground, a place for paedophiles of both preferences. Common ground, while being the one that touts of being for “all” paedophiles is less used than either of the other forums:
* GC: GirlChat- for those that favour victimizing girls
* BC: BoyChat- for those that favour victimizing boys
* PP: Paedo Parent – to identify that they have their own children
* LGF: Little Girl Friend – referring to girl victims
* LBF: Little Boy Friend – referring to boy victims

Behavioral Red Flags
If your child spends a lot of time online, more than an hour a day, chatting rather than talking with friends on the phone or spending time with friends in person, be concerned.
This is a sign that they’re being “groomed” (seduced) by an internet predator.
If your child closes websites or screens when you walk by, be concerned. If your child clears the web browser’s history, be concerned.
If your child appears to be doing something suspicious, they are doing something suspicious. This is true in all parenting situations but is especially pertinent concerning the internet.
If your child has a webcam on their computer in their room or sends pictures of themselves over the internet, be concerned.
If your child makes “friends” online you never meet, you should be concerned what kinds of friends they are. In addition, never let a child meet in person a “friend” they met online.
How To Limit Paedophiles’ Access to Your Child
It can’t be said often enough: computers with internet access should be in well-travelled rooms of the house, like the living room or the kitchen. That way, you can see what your child is doing, and they know it.
If your child has a computer in their bedroom for homework, keep a central router for internet access in a location where it’s easy to pull the plug at night. Paedophiles, like vampires, prefer the dark.
Limiting computer time reduces the risk your child will waste valuable computer hours chatting with strangers.
No webcams, and hide the digital camera where your kids can’t find it. Paedophiles love to see who they’re chatting with and encourage children to send indecent photos of themselves. They will share those pictures with other paedophiles, too.
