Police officer jailed for child sexual abuse images offences

A Met Police detective who starred in a BBC documentary has been jailed for child porn offences.

DC Kenneth Dymond, 36, was filmed investigating a stab murder for the program ‘The Met: Policing London’.

Just two months after the show was broadcast police raided his home and seized laptops and mobile phones.

Analysis of the equipment revealed 544 indecent images of children including vile footage of a toddler being raped .

Sentencing Dymond to eight months behind bars, Judge Michael Heath said: “As a serving police officer you ought to know that children are grievously abused so that this material, this utter filth, can be put out there on the internet for people to view it.”

Stephen Kemp, prosecuting, added: “The internet search history identified various terms which indicated searches for material of a paedophilic nature.

“There were extracts of a Skype conversation recovered from a lap top which appeared to be from a 15 year old girl’s brother calling the defendant a paedophile.

“That person threatened he would go to the police if the defendant did not delete his sister’s profile calling the user a f ** **** nonce.”

Dymond, who is an expert in CCTV analysis, admitted being attracted to teenage girls and addicted to porn following his arrest.

He was interviewed by fellow officers after his home in south-east London was raided in August 2015.

Dymond, now of Ludford, Lincs., admitted 10 charges of making an indecent image of a child.

He was jailed for eight months on Thursday at Lincoln Crown Court and placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.

Serving Metropolitan Police officer pleads guilty to possessing child sexual abuse images

A Metropolitan Police Service detective constable has pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children.

Murder squad detective Kenneth Dymond, 36, who works within the Specialist Crime and Operations Command, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 5 where he pleaded guilty to 10 counts of making indecent images

More than 480 images were recovered from a number of items retrieved from DC Dymond’s home when he was arrested on 19 November 2015.

He was subsequently charged on Thursday, 3 March.

He is due to be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday, 2 June.

The officer is currently suspended.

Misconduct proceedings have been suspended pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.

DC Dymond did not enter a plea in relation to one count of extreme pornography – which involved humans engaged in sexual activity with various animals
