Paedophile jailed after sharing ‘disgusting and horrific’ images of children

A depraved paedophile who embarked on the relentless pursuit of vile and disgusting indecent images of children has been jailed for four years and four months.

Alexander Allport possessed and distributed hundreds of images at category A, B and C, including movies of babies being raped, Bradford Crown Court heard today.

Allport, 37, of Canterbury Crescent, Halifax, shared the “disgusting and horrific” pictures with like-minded perverts on internet chat sites.

He was told by Judge Jonathan Rose: “Your behaviour is incomprehensible to any decent member of society.”

Allport was first arrested in May, 2017, when police officers acting on information went to his home and seized a memory stick and computers, prosecutor Ayesha Smart said.

Investigators found 114 category A movies and 300 category A images; 130 category B movies and 295 category B images; and 8 category C movies and 1,035 category C images.

They featured children aged between one and 14, the court was told.

Allport was distributing the images in a chatroom with 43 members. He shared 21 of them, some at category A, among 18 people, Miss Smart said.

He told the police he began downloading the images in 2016. He was then released under investigation.

On February 3 this year, the police returned to his home and seized three phones and a computer hard drive containing 10 category B images, 83 category C images and 752 prohibited images of children, comprising cartoons and 3D images.

Allport told the police that following his first arrest he had paid an American company for therapy to tackle his sexual attraction to children.

He was again released and he appeared in court in April.

On May 5, he was caught with 39 category A indecent images; 33 at category B and 60 at category C.

He was using a website to chat to boys and girls and taking to other paedophiles.

Allport was then remanded in custody and sentenced on a video link to Leeds Prison.

He pleaded guilty to making and distributing indecent images of children in 2017 and two further sets of offences of making indecent images of children.

Judge Rose said that Allport “embarked on the relentless pursuit of paedophilic images of children being debased and violated.”

He was a determined paedophile who engaged with like-minded perverts to share “disgusting and horrific images.”

Allport was jailed for a total of four years and four months. He must register as a sex offender indefinitely and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order was made, also for an indefinite period.

Dewsbury paedophile used trivia game in sick sexual abuse of young girl

A paedophile who subjected a young girl to years of sexual abuse has been jailed for six-and-a-half years.

John Mahony committed non-recent child sexual abuse against two girls, Leeds Crown Court heard.

The 72-year-old, of Selbourne Road, Saville Town, Dewsbury, pleaded guilty to six counts of indecency with a child and two counts of indecent assault.

He also pleaded guilty to a further count of indecency with a child in relation to a second girl.

Prosecutor Michael Collins said the abuse had started with sexual touching and escalated to playing a trivia game in which Mahony would ask her to take off her clothes, showing her pornography and taking photos of her undressed.

In a statement, the main victim said that as a child she was mistaken for being mature for her age, but she was actually nervous and withdrawn.

She described dealing with undiagnosed depression and anxiety as a result of the abuse and said that as she got older she tried to avoid responsibility and socialising.

She said her depression got worse after having her own children.

Paedophile who put young victims through ‘horrendous’ ordeal is jailed at Leeds Crown Court

Police said a man who sexually assaulted two young girls had put them through a “horrendous” ordeal after he was jailed for more than five years.

Stuart Jones, of Lyon Road, Pontefract, admitted three charges of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13 by touching.

The court heard two of the charges related to one victim and a second charge was in connection with a second.

Jones, 48, also admitted two charges of causing a child to watch a sexual act and one charge of inciting a child aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

Patrick Palmer, prosecuting, said all the offences happened at an address in Wakefield district over the same two day period in June 2019.

Jones also admitted one charge of possessing an indecent image of a child and one charge of possessing an extreme pornographic image.

Mr Palmer said police found the indecent image of a child and the extreme pornographic image in a WhatsApp chat group on his phone when he was arrested.

Mr Palmer said the extreme pornographic image was a video of a man involved in a sex act with a dog.

Mr Palmer said the indecent image of a child charge relates to a video of a man sexually abusing a boy.

Judge Robin Mairs jailed Jones for five years and three months.

Judge Mairs said Jones’s name will be on the sex offender register for life.

And he was made the subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

Man jailed for sex offences

A man has been sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment for sex offences after he travelled to London with the intention of committing his crimes.

James Ritchie, 30, (04.10.91) of Ballroyd Road, Huddersfield, arranged to travel more than 190 miles from Huddersfield to London with the intention of sexually abusing underage children.

Ritchie was charged with:

  • Arranging / Facilitating the Commission of a Child Sex Offence

  • Possession of Category A, B and C Indecent Images of Children

  • Possession of Extreme Pornographic Images (Beastiality)

He was sentenced to eight years immediate custodial imprisonment at the Inner London Crown Court on Friday, 21 May.

The sentencing comes after Ritchie approached a covert profile online believing they could help him gain access to young children.

During the conversations, Ritchie described in detail the abuse that he intended to commit, and his desire to gain access to children of an extremely young age.

Ritchie sent a number of intimate images of himself and requested that they were shown to the children before he met with them, and made claims of abusing other children in the past.

Ritchie, who has a degree in Engineering, also divulged that he had added extra security measures to his phone, including a ‘kill switch’ which would delete the entire contents of the phone if necessary, in order to hide his offending from his partner and family.

After weeks of conversation across various messaging platforms and conversations on the phone, Ritchie agreed with the individual he was speaking to online to travel to London to meet and abuse the children.

He intended to stay for the duration of the weekend.

On 10 July 2020, Ritchie drove for over four hours from Huddersfield to Clapham.

Ritchie was arrested by officers on scene, who took possession of his phone whilst it was unlocked. This prevented him from hitting the ‘kill switch’ he had previously described, securing evidence which proved essential at trial.

A search was conducted of his home address by Met officers, supported by West Yorkshire Police, and a number of electronic devices were recovered and forensically examined.

Following review of the devices officers had seized, it was identified that Ritchie had a number of images of child sexual abuse, including Category A images – the most explicit form of indecent images of children.

Richard Szabo – Wigan/Bradford

Pervert was caught in the act of abusing teenage girl – but she had to wait 4 years for justice

A West Yorkshire judge branded an extraordinary four-year delay in getting a child abuse case to court “a disgrace” as he jailed the 55-year-old offender.

Richard Szabo sexually abused a teenage girl back in Bradford in June 2017, but his case did not get to the magistrates court in the city until March this year.

Bradford Crown Court heard that Szabo was caught in the act of abusing the girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, and he said he would admit what he had done if the police were called.

But Judge Andrew Hatton said Szabo then made “no reply” to questions when interviewed by the police and chose to prolong the agony for his victim.

“There is an inordinate delay between the interview and the postal requisitioning – the sending of a letter to you telling you to attend at the magistrates court,” said the judge.

“The letter was sent on the 19th of March 2020. Four days before this country went into lockdown.”

Judge Hatton referred to the need for the police to carry out scientific investigation of bedding and analysis of a mobile phone and other electronic devices because Szabo had not admitted his offending.

Even when his case finally came before the magistrates court in March this year Szabo did not indicate a guilty plea and he only admitted the offence at his first crown court appearance last month.

“It is only at that point, four years less two months later, that your victim realised she would not have to attend court and give her account of what happened to her that night,” the judge told Szabo.

“I can only imagine the anxiety she has experienced over the last four years.”

Szabo, of Appleton Court, Wigan, finally pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual activity with a child last month and today he was jailed for 18 months, but Judge Hatton said the delay in the case did not achieve justice for anybody.

“I find it extraordinary that the police took so long to send the file to the Crown Prosecution Service and for the letter of postal requisition to be sent,” said the judge.

“It is in fact a disgrace that it took so long.”

The judge said justice was not being served because the appropriate sentence had to be significantly reduced because of the “extraordinary delay”.

Szabo will now be on the sex offender register with the police for the next 10 years and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for the same period of time.
