A Bristol sex offender who changed his name after a conviction for attempting to incite a child into sexual activity has now been found guilty of sexually assaulting a former girlfriend.

Peter Hodges, now known as Josh Russell, of Severn beach, Bristol was convicted of sexual assault at Crown Court on 12 October 2026, but acquitted of rape.
He was acquitted of rape but convicted of sexual assault.
The latest conviction comes nine years after the then Tesco worker Hodges received a community sentence for attempting to incite or cause a girl under 16 to engage in sexual activity.
In October 2017, Bristol Crown Court imposed a three-year community order.
The earlier case followed an investigation by Totnes Justice, a online paedophile-hunting group.
Hodges avoided an immediate prison sentence in that case. He now awaits sentencing for a further sexual offence — this time against a former partner.

He has been held in prison on remand since January, and is due to be sentenced in December.
