In October 2026, a 26-year-old violent sex offender named Aaron Nelson from Cupar, Fife, was sentenced at Dundee Sheriff Court

He pled guilty to downloading and possessing indecent images of children.

He was also convicted of assaulting and injuring two detective constables during an April 2025 police raid on his apartment.

During the search, five police officers were required to restrain Nelson as he attempted to destroy his mobile phone by stamping on it. One female detective suffered a concussion during the struggle

Nelson resisted arrest by attacking police officers, kicking a male officer’s head while he was being restrained.

He also struck a female officer with such force that she was pushed back against a wall, resulting in injury to her head.

Five officers were needed to restrain Nelson.

The source reports that a seized phone contained images and videos of child abuse.

Sheriff George Way ordered 200 hours of unpaid work and participation in the Lomond programme.
