A Dundee and Fife man accused of subjecting a woman to over a year of ongoing harassment has received a sentence of unpaid work.
Derek Pang was found to have examined the victim’s phone, falsely accused her of infidelity, and kept her under surveillance for a three-month period.
The couple continues to be together, and the victim did not support the issuance of a non-harassment order, Dundee Sheriff Court was informed.
Pang admitted to shouting and uttering abusive language directed at her, displaying jealous and controlling behavior repeatedly.
He also went through her phone and smartwatch, and made phone calls to monitor her movements.
These actions were part of a pattern of abusive behavior at various locations including residences in Guardbridge, St Andrews, the Old Course Hotel, and Dundee’s PureGym.
Sheriff Gregor Murray previously described the behavior as severe, noting the persistent nature of the abuse, referred to as a ‘drip, drip, drip’ of harassment.
After a postponement for good behavior, Pang, of Dunfermline, appeared again in court.
He was sentenced to complete 120 hours of unpaid community service.
