Shoaib Mohammed, 34, of Sheffield, was jailed for 11 years after grooming a vulnerable teenage girl and arranging for her to travel from Leicester to meet him.
Leicester Crown Court heard that Mohammed contacted the girl on Snapchat in 2021, knowing she was 14, and encouraged her to send s*xualised images. Judge Keith Raynor said he groomed and manipulated her over months and exploited her emotional vulnerability.
Mohammed arranged for her to travel to Sheffield. The court heard that he drove her to the Manchester area and s*xually abused her before taking her to hotels in Sheffield. Her family reported her missing; when Mohammed learned police were searching for her he drove her to the railway station, and she returned to Leicester.
He pleaded guilty to five counts of s*xual activity with a child, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in s*xual activity and three counts of possessing indecent images of a child. The sentence includes a further three years on extended licence, and a 15-year S*xual Harm Prevention Order was imposed.
