Stalker banned from talking to any child after disturbing 500-picture campaign jailed

A Scarborough man has been jailed after breaching an order preventing contact with anyone under the age of 18

North Yorkshire Police said Paul Davey, 57, appeared before Harrogate Magistrates’ Court on October 29, where he was jailed for 29 weeks. This came after he breached an order which prevented him from contacting anyone under the age of 18.

He pleaded guilty to this breach and pleaded guilty to harassment without violence after he repeatedly targeted a teenage boy. He followed the boy over several months and would drive alongside him in the street.

On occasion he would film the boy and slow his car down so he would have to pass it. He would approach the boy while quoting bible verses.

Davey knew the routes the boy would take and would find him even when he changed them. The police also found 500 images of the boy on Davey’s mobile phone.

They also uncovered a printed image of him stuck to a chair in Davey’s bedroom. None of these images were of a sexual nature, but the sexual risk order Davey was subject to meant he could not contact anyone under the age of 18 directly or indirectly.
