A now four time convicted paedophile who had already received community orders for child abuse image offences has admitted another string of crimes after being caught communicating with an undercover police officer posing as a nine-year-old girl.

Jordan Taphouse, 31, of Rowan Tree Road, Tunbridge Wells, sent a category B child sexual abuse video to the officer using the name “Chloe” and asked questions of a sexual nature, Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court heard.

The supermarket worker admitted six counts of possessing indecent images of children, two breaches of sex offender notification requirements and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Investigators found images across all three categories, including category A — the most serious.

The court heard he used aliases, deleted his internet history and accessed prohibited browsers to evade restrictions.

He had previously appeared in court for similar offending in 2022, 2024 and 2025, receiving community orders and being placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register.

Despite court orders and probation supervision, Taphouse continued offending.

Prosecutor David Holman said efforts to restrict his internet use had failed to change his behaviour and warned that the offences involved real victims.

Magistrates sent the case to Maidstone Crown Court for sentencing and remanded him in custody. At the time of the report, a sentencing date had yet to be fixed.
