Mental health nurse had baby rape images

A female mental health nurse from Norwich caught with 182 indecent images of children, including babies, has walked free from court with a suspended prison sentence.

Kirsty Robins, 46, of Pilling Park Road, Norwich, pleaded guilty to nine offences after police discovered the images on her Samsung phone.

Norwich Magistrates’ Court heard that the children depicted ranged in age from babies to 14 years old.

Eighty-one images were category A, the most serious classification showing the r*pe and s*xual torture of young children

The investigation also uncovered online conversations in which Robins discussed the abuse of children. Prosecutor Emma Pocknell told the court that the subjects included “what to do with grandchildren”, indecent behaviour in front of youngsters and s*x with animals.

Robins pleaded guilty to making indecent images and four counts of sending grossly offensive communications between January 2024 and September 2025.

Despite the disturbing material and messages, magistrates handed her a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for 24 months. She was also given a probation requirement and a mental health treatment order.

Robins was made subject to a Sxual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the sx offenders’ register for 10 years.

Her repulsive offending stands in stark contradiction to her role as a mental health nurse—a profession that plays a vital part in supporting victims and survivors of child s*xual abuse.

While mental health professionals help people cope with the lasting trauma of abuse, she was involved in offending linked directly to children being abused for the sexual gratification of perverts.

Robins had previously worked on the wards as a matron for people with dementia at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS

Her defence said her offending had already led to a relationship breakdown and the loss of her job
