Pensioner caught with hundreds of child porn images avoids jail
A PENSIONER has avoided jail time after pleading guilty to possessing hundreds of child porn images.
Anthony Ernest Maris, 65, of Hospital Drove, Long Sutton, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court.
He was charged with five counts of possessing indecent images of children, to which he pleaded guilty in October.
He was sentenced to a 36-month community supervision order.
He was also banned from working with children, must attend a treatment programme for internet sex offenders and will be on the sex offender’s register for five years.
DC Claire Hammond of Lincolnshire Police’s paedophile online investigation team said: “We are slightly disappointed that the sentence was not a custodial one.
“The offences committed by Maris have impacted on every aspect of his life and have been a great source of embarrassment and upset to his family and friends.”
