Oxford paedophile jailed

A man who downloaded hundreds of images of child porn and photographed himself kissing a 13-year-old girl was jailed at Oxford Crown Court.

Carl Forrester was last month convicted of sexual activity with a child in 2007 and making (downloading) 339 indecent images of children between September 2005 and July 2007.

Eighteen of the photographs, which were found on two computers at the 56-year-old’s home in Canning Crescent, South Oxford, were rated at level four by police. Level five is the most serious.

Peter Coombe, prosecuting, said: “What is found on his computer shows a very unhealthy interest in underage girls, but it goes further because he is clearly trying to action his fantasies.

“He successfully lured a girl under the age of 16 into his bedroom at night. That shows quite plainly he’s gone from simply being a voyeur to a predator.”

Clare Fraser, defending, said her client still denied the offences. She added the sexual activity with a child charge was at the lowest level of what may come before the courts.

Recorder Peter Kyte jailed Forrester for six months for downloading the pornography and for one month concurrently for sexual activity with a child. He also made a five-year sexual offences prevention order, restricting his use of the Internet and contact with underage girls.
