Sex pervert jailed over child images

A MAN who kept sex images of children and babies on his computer has been jailed for eight months.

Andrew Monument was ordered to be put on the sex offenders’ register for ten years after pleading guilty to 16 specimen charges of making indecent images of children.

Teesside Crown Court heard that 4,266 files or images were found on his computer, following a raid by police at his home, in Cromwell Avenue, Stockton.

He had downloaded the pictures but had not distributed them or used them for commercial gain.

Judge Peter Armstrong said they were of the most vile and awful nature.

He said: “You downloaded these on to your computer to look at yourself.

“The specimen counts involved photographs of children as young as babies involved in sexual activity with adults.”

The court heard Monument had not been suffering from mental illness at the time of the offences, but had tried to commit suicide last August.
