Michael Skyrme jailed for assaulting former partner

A domestic abuser who stamped on his then-partner’s back and broke her hand in a violent assault has been jailed for three years.

Michael Skyrme, 67, attacked the woman at her home in Tadley in August 2024. She also suffered injuries to her face and wrist.

Police arrived at the scene and found Skyrme nearby within minutes. He was arrested and later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Skyrme, of Park Prewett Road, Basingstoke, pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on 22 October. He was also given a five-year restraining order preventing him from contacting his victim.
