MAN JAILED FOR HISTORICAL SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST A CHILD

A Swansea man has been jailed following his conviction for multiple historic sexual offences against a child.

Matthew Bailey, aged 37 and from Bonymaen, drew police attention after one of his victims came forward in 2023, revealing abuse that had taken place roughly 20 years earlier.

Another victim who had suffered sexual assault by Bailey was also identified during the investigation.

Bailey was found guilty of two counts of gross indecency involving a girl under the age of 16, two counts of sexual activity with a girl under 13 that did not involve penetration, one count of sexual activity in front of a girl under 13, and one count of causing a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

The court sentenced him to two and a half years in prison.
