Chelmsford sex offender had ‘paedophile manual’ with guidance on how to sexually abuse children

A manual providing advice and guidance on how to sexually abuse very young children was among a number of disturbing items found at the home of a convicted paedophile.
Police made the horrifying discovery on the mobile phone of Callum Leeder, 28, who had already twice before been convicted of making indecent images of children.
But this may have been his most shocking offence yet.
The manual, which could have been distributed to other predators, was accompanied by a range of indecent images and Leeder, from Chelmsford, Essex, has now been jailed for his sickening crime.
Essex Police attended an address in Rubens Gate in May this year.
They had first been made aware of information relating to an IP address in Chelmsford back in May 2019, and Essex Police’s Online Investigation Team (POLIT) had been making enquiries into allegations of indecent images of children at that property during the 12 months that followed.
It was an address belonging to Leeder.
The 28-year-old was living at home with his father at the time of the incident and on arrival Essex Police officers found both men inside the property.
Basildon Crown Court, where the sentence was conducted over video call this morning (Thursday, July 2), heard that police seized a mobile phone belonging to Leeder.
Marc Brown, prosecuting, confirmed that police found a number of indecent images on the phone, some of which appeared to come from a manual found in a “locked folder”.
Leeder was arrested on May 15 and admitted to possessing a paedophile manual on June 12.
Its not the first time Leeder had come before the courts.
In both 2013 and 2015, the 28-year-old was guilty of making indecent images of children, and in both 2017 and 2019 he breached the Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) which had been imposed on him.
This was just the latest in a string of sexual offences, only this time he will spend time behind bars as a consequence.
Judge Samantha Leigh handed Leeder a custodial sentence of 22 months, half of which will be served in prison before he is released on license.
Leeder has also been made the subject of an indefinite SHPO and has been ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for a period of ten years.

Man admits to owning ‘paedophile manual’
A man has admitted to owning a paedophile manual which was found by police officers investigating indecent images of children online.
The manual was found by Essex Police during an investigation prompted by a tip off received in May
Callum Leeder, 28, of Rubensgate, Chelmsford, was arrested after Essex Police received reports on May 6 that indecent images of children had been accessed from an address in Chelmsford in May last year.
Officers from the Police Online Investigation Team (POLIT) carried out an investigation and found the paedophile manual at an address.
Leeder was later charged and pleaded guilty of being in possession of a paedophile manual at a hearing at Basildon Crown Court on June 12.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on June 30.
