Jail for teen sex offender

An 18-year-old registered sex offender has been sentenced to almost two years in prison.

Carmo Soriano, of St Michael’s Gate, Parnwell, admitted breaching conditions he must adhere to as part of being on the Sex Offenders Register and subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

He was placed on the register in January last year after being convicted of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

All registered sex offenders living in Cambridgeshire are managed and monitored by the force’s Public Protection Unit.

This includes officers carrying out unannounced visits at their home address, checking their electronic devices and speaking in detail with them about their lifestyle.
