Disgusting man plied girl with alcohol and carried out years of sickening abuse…her bravery put him where he belongs

A man who subjected a teenage girl to years of ‘systemic emotional, sexual and physical abuse’ has been jailed.

Mark Jones, 46, would ply his victim with alcohol before sexually abusing her when she was a teenager.

Jones, of Glodwick Road, Oldham, was found guilty of sexual activity with a child after a three day trial at Minshull Street Crown Court.

His victim contacted police in 2018 to report Jones’ historic abuse towards her, which had taken place years earlier.

When arrested by the police, he replied no comment to most questions put to him.

But after denying charges, he made his victim sit through a trial before he was found guilty by a jury and jailed for seven and a half years on Thursday, December 5.
