Babysitter jailed after grooming and sexually abusing 11-year-old girl

A man who was trusted to babysit a young girl and her brothers has been jailed after he groomed and repeatedly sexually abused the young schoolgirl

Unemployed Christopher Norman Bunting, 26 of Sheffield appeared at Sheffield Crown Court

The court heard that the abuse took place over a six month period beginning when the victim was just 11-years-old.

The court heard that Bunting who was claiming benefits had told the 11-year-old girl that because they had sexual activity, that she was now a woman. He told her he loved her but that she must not tell anyone and to keep it a secret between them. 

Perverted Bunting was finally exposed after he was caught giving drugs to the girl during her lunch break at school.

The judge sentenced Bunting to a total of seven years, of which he must serve half in prison

Bunting is required to register as a sex offender for 10 years

He was also banned from working with children indefinitely and given a Sexual Offences Prevention order, prohibiting him from having unsupervised contact with children.
