Bank worker jailed after bosses found images of child sex abuse on work laptop

A bank worker who was caught with indecent images of children on a work laptop has been jailed.

Andrew Dent has been caged for eight years for possessing extreme images and videos of child sexual abuse, which included him engaging in sexual activity with a child.

ven officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA) who regularly deal with these offences said they were shocked by Dent’s crimes.

Dent, 35, was arrested in October 2015 after his bosses found the indecent images on a computer and tipped off the NCA.

Investigators from the NCA’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre then raided his home in Stuart Street, Clayton.

They seized further material as well as computers belonging to his partner Brett Cuthbert, 21, which also contained indecent images.

Dent later pleaded guilty to 16 charges, including sexual activity with a child and making, taking and possession indecent images of children.

He was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court last week.

Cuthbert, who admitted five charges including making, possessing and distributing indecent images, will be sentenced on Wednesday (March 22).
