Man, 61, jailed for sex abuse and indecent images

A 61-year-old man has been sentenced to 22 months in prison for indecently assaulting a girl and for possessing indecent images.

David Davies, formerly of Barry Avenue, Windsor, was handed the sentence at Reading Crown Court, sitting at Reading Magistrates’ Court, this afternoon.

He had entered an early guilty plea for three counts of assaulting the girl in the early 1980s in Winchester.

She is believed to have been aged under 10 when the abuse took place.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing 239 indecent images between January 1, 2008, and October 25, 2011, at an address in Pococks Lane, Eton.

Davies – a former employee of Eton College – has been living on a barge in Marlow since his arrest.

He will also be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for 10 years, and will be registered as a sex offender.
