A GLANAMAN man described by a judge as a paedophile has been sent to prison for two-and-a-half years.

Thomas Noir Morgan was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court after pleading guilty to making and possessing indecent images of children.

The 45-year-old was charged after police discovered offending images on computer equipment at his Tan-y-Gelli home on two separate occasions.

More than 250 indecent pictures of children were found when officers executed search warrants in July, 2010, and in July last year.

The alarm was raised, said Jim Davis, prosecuting, after Morgan had been sending “wholly inappropriate” computer messages to young girls.

The court heard that Morgan had been given a community order in 2002 for offences of child pornography.

Jailing him, Judge Paul Thomas QC said: “You are a paedophile and you represent a continuing risk to children.”

He ordered that Morgan must be registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Morgan had originally denied the charges.

He changed his pleas to guilty when the case was about to begin as a trial at Swansea Crown Court on January 3.
