PERVERTED pensioner Robin Pitts has been jailed for five years for sexually abusing young children.
Pitts, 69, of Warren Road, Dawlish, had been convicted last year, having denied all charges. He had been found guilty of four charges of sexual assault and two of causing or inciting a young girl to engage in sexual activity.
He had also been convicted of three counts of sexual activity and one of indecency against a young boy. He had been cleared on the direction of a judge on a count of indecently assaulting the boy.
Prosecutor Andrew Oldland said the boy was aged between four and eight at the time of the abuse and the girl was about five when her ordeal began. She was six when the defendant stopped abusing her, in 2007.
The court had heard at trial that Pitts used bizarre games to take advantage of the children. The offences were discovered when the boy made a remark which shocked his father and the police were called in.
Defence counsel Lee Bremridge said Pitts had had suffered serious health problems since a roadaccident in 1991.
Judge Paul Darlow said Pitts must keep his details on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
