Pontypool man had child porn images

A PONTYPOOL man who admitted distributing indecent photos of children was given a suspended prison sentence.

Police found David Lyttle, 26, of Club Road, Tranch, had 755 live or deleted images on his computer between December 2005 and June, 6, 2007, Newport crown court heard.

He was found to have 676 level one images, 41 level two images, 28 level three images and 10 level four images. Level five are the worst.

Hywel Hughes, prosecuting, said an investigation in the Merseyside area took police to Lyttle’s home on November 20, 2007 where two laptop computers were removed.

Mr Hughes said Lyttle told police he also had a disk with images on at his home which police then recovered.

David Pinnell, defending, said Lyttle must be given credit for pleading guilty and for pinpointing police officers to what they needed.

He said a significant number of the images were at lower levels and videos involved consenting teenagers.

Mr Pinnell said Lyttle, who lives with his wife and daughter, is the sole breadwinner in his household.

Judge Roderick Denyer, QC, said that all of the images involved teenage persons and not young children or babies.

He said a sentence of more than 12 months would do no benefit and would destroy Lyttle’s family.

Lyttle was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment which was suspended for two years.

He was also ordered to complete an internet sex offender treatment programme with probation.

Judge Denyer also ordered he be on the sex offenders’ register for five years and Lyttle is prevented from using the internet other than for the purposes of work, study or finding work.
