A CONVICTED pervert will be sentenced later this month for sexually assaulting a little girl.

Terrence Wilson is under a hospital order and is currently being assessed by experts.

The order was extended during a short hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court today until May 31 when Wilson will be sentenced.

Reports on the 53-year-old are expected to be completed by the time of the hearing.

Wilson has been waiting since last August to be sentenced after he was convicted of sexual assault and breaking the terms of a sexual offences prevention order.

The trial heard Wilson carried out the assault on the nine-year-old girl near his home in St Clair’s Road, St Osyth, on January 30 last year.

He admitted another four charges of possessing indecent images of children.

At the time, Wilson was under a sex prevention order to stop him talking to or associating with young girls.

He denied charges of kidnapping the girl and kidnapping her with intent to commit a sexual offence.

The jury failed to reach verdicts on those charges and the prosecution decided not to seek a re-trial.
