Probation for man who had sex with 12-year-old girl

A MAN who had sex with a 12-year-old girl after grooming her on the internet was today put on probation for three years.

Ross Tindall, was also put on the sex offenders’ register for the same length of time at Aberdeen Sheriff Court

The 20-year-old Aberdeenshire man admitted meeting the 12-year-old youngster on a social networking site and the pair began talking.

Tindall also exchanged mobile numbers with the girl and began sending her text messages.

And he said the girl told him she was 14.

Depute fiscal Jonathan Kemp told Aberdeen Sheriff Court Tindall told the youngster he loved her and wanted to marry her.

And Aberdeen Sheriff Court also heard Tindall told the girl he wished she was in his bed.

Mr Kemp said the victim’s mum confronted her after seeing messages on her phone.

Tindall, whose address was listed in papers at Aberdeen Sheriff Court as 45 Broomfield Road, Portlethen, admitted having sex with the 12-year-old and a separate charge of using lewd and libidinous behaviour toward an 11-year-old girl.

Tindall’s solicitor, Frances Connor told the court he had felt confident and sociable on the internet.

She said: “Tindall is an immature young man.

“He has been something of a loner. However, he did well at school and went on to get employment. He had created an alternative world via the internet.”
