A PERVERT who preyed on two girls in offences dating back to 1988, has been jailed.
John Rigby, 53, of Grasmere Grove, Frindsbury, had denied six charges of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, ten charges of indecent assault and six charges of indecency with a child.
But he was found guilty of all charges except one of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, which was left on the court file.
Maidstone Crown Court was told Rigby, pictured, attacked one victim from 1988 to 2001.
She was aged just eight when the abuse started and it continued until she was 21.
Another girl was targeted by the paedophile in 2008 when she was 10-years-old.
Rigby was jailed for six years and will also have to sign on the sex offenders register and be subject to a sexual offences prevention order for ten years.
Detective Constable Melanie Riddell said: “I am pleased Rigby has been brought to justice for his crimes.
“The success of this investigation would not have been possible without the bravery of the victims and they should be commended for their courage in coming forward to report these crimes.
“I hope the sentence passed today will allow the victims of these crimes to continue to rebuild their lives, safe in the knowledge that this man will remain in prison for some time.”
