Paedophile keeps breaking the rules of his court order

A sex fiend has been thrown back behind bars after accessing a site for swingers – breaching a court order designed to curb his perverted behaviour.

William Meakin, aged 43, jailed for eight years for a string of attacks on a girl, also failed to register an address where he stayed upon release, breaking the rules designed to allow police to monitor his movements.

Meakin, formerly from St Budeaux, has been locked up at HMP Dartmoor and faces being recalled on licence until 2019 to see out his original term.

He was jailed for eight years in January 2011 to three sexual assaults of a girl aged under 16. Defendants are usually set free half way through their term.

Meakin, a former lorry driver, also admitted possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

The sentencing judge handed Meakin a Sexual Offences Prevention Order to monitor and control his behaviour.

Meakin, whose address was given as HMP Dartmoor, admitted two counts of breaching the terms of that order before Plymouth magistrates.

He pleaded guilty to using the website “Fabswingers” and possessing a smart mobile phone with a camera between May last year and August this year.

Meakin also admitted staying at an address in St Mary’s Street, Stonehouse, for more than seven days in a 12-month period between February 2015 and August this year.

City magistrates remanded Meakin in custody to face sentencing by a judge at Plymouth Crown Court tomorrow.

Fabswingers advertises itself as a “free website created for swingers by a genuine swinging couple”. It boasts almost 25,000 UK members.

Child sex attacker is jailed for eight years for assaults on girl

A ST BUDEAUX man has been jailed for eight years after admitting a string of sex attacks on a girl under 16.

HGV driver William Meakin, 37, had pleaded guilty to three sexual assaults at a previous hearing at Plymouth Crown Court

When he returned for sentence yesterday, he also admitted possessing two indecent level four movies of young girls with a view to distributing or showing them to another.

He also admitted possessing indecent photographs of children, one at level one, one at level two, two at level three and six at level four.

Level one is the least serious and level five the most serious.

The court heard the assaults came to light when the victim confided in a school friend.

McKenzie Robinson, for Meakin, of Reynolds Grove, St Budeaux, said his client felt deep shame and sorrow at the distress he had caused.

The movies had been distributed through a file-sharing system, he said.

Judge Francis Gilbert QC said the clips, seven and 11 minutes long, showed girls aged around 10 and 12 appearing distressed while committing “very serious sexual activity” with men.

“These were very serious perverted images possessed with a view to distributing them to others,” he said.

He sentenced Meakin to eight years in prison, imposed a Sexual Offences Prevention Order to run indefinitely and ordered him to remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register until further order of the court.
