Barry Carter from Sydenham jailed for 10 years for attempting to rape two young girls
A 43-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for 10 years for attempting to rape and indecently assaulting two girls.
Barry Carter of Sydenham Park, Sydenham was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court today(November 18).
In September he was found guilty of 10 counts of sexual offences relating to attempted rape, indecent assault and inciting sex with a minor.
The offences took place in Bromley and Lewisham and the first victim, who is now in her 30s, was assaulted in 1987.
In 2005, Carter attacked the second victim, aged 10, while she was sleeping, going on to assault her again in 2006 and 2010.
Carter, had not been employed for many years following a car accident, and used his access to the girls when no other adults were around to sexually assault them.
He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
