Man sentenced after sexually assaulting women on the streets late at night
A man from London who sexually assaulted seven women on the streets late at night has been sentenced to a period of 20 months imprisonment suspended for two years.
Ali Ay, 42, of Muswell Hill targeted women walking alone on the streets of north London in Kentish Town, Islington and Archway on seven separate occasions over a two-year period.
Between April 2019 and October 2021, he approached the victims whilst dressed in women’s clothing, including tutus, fishnets and tights before exposing prosthetic male genitals and sexually assaulting a number of his targets.
Ay showed some of the victims images of male genitalia as he attempted to engage them in conversation.
CCTV was used to identify the vehicle used by Ay which was traced back to his home address.
Ay was arrested at his home address in October 2021, where police uncovered a number of female items of clothing and sex toys that were present during his attacks.
Ay attended Snaresbrook Crown Court on 8 September 2023 where he was sentenced to 20 months imprisonment suspended for two years and made subject to a Sexual Harm Protection Order for eight years.
