Man jailed for Silloth sexual assault

A paedophile has been jailed for two years after admitting carrying out a sex attack on a schoolgirl in Silloth

Peter Wood, aged 53, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court today (1 September) for engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a child.

Wood has been jailed for two years after an investigation into a child sex offence committed in Silloth in June 2023.

He is also required to register with police in accordance with the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for 10 years and is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.
