Paedophile has sickening stash of child sex abuse images

A paedophile caught in possession of a sickening stash of images of children being sexually abused has walked free from court.

Amde Butterfield admitted amassing a disgusting number of the horrific images and videos.

The 24-year-old, of Birchwood, was charged with possessing indecent images of children (IIOC), three counts of making IIOC and sole counts of distributing IIOC, possessing prohibited images of children and possessing extreme pornographic images.

He appeared to be sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, August 3, but he avoided prison in a bid to rehabilitate him in the community.

The case of the prosecution was outline by Nardeen Nemat, who explained that Butterfield was found to have downloaded 177 images and videos on his devices.

Of these, 74 of them were graded as category A – the most severe rating of abuse involving child rape.

Of the remaining 103, 67 were rated as category B and 36 in category C – all collected between July 2018 and August 2022.

Moreover, a forensic examination of his devised revealed the presence of 22 prohibited images of a children, 13 of which he distributed to other perverts.

Officers also found he had gathered 248 images classed as extreme pornography involving people engaging in intercourse with animals.

The charge to which he pleaded guilty states that these images were ‘explicit’, as well as ‘grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character’.

Butterfield, of Partridge Close, was sentenced by judge Teague to 14 months in prison suspended for two years.

He must complete 30 days of the Horizon sex offender programme and 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days, as well as 180 hours of unpaid work.

In addition, the court ordered that he abide by sex offender registration and notification requirements for 10 years and the terms of a sexual harm prevention order for the same period.
