Police officers went to Adam Boyd’s home in February 2021 with a search warrant after receiving information from the National Crime Agency.
The officers seized a mobile phone and a tablet device from his bedside table and when they were analysed they were found to contain 340 indecent images and one video of children in the most serious level A category, 406 images in category B and 400 images and one video in the lowest level C category.
At Ipswich Crown Court, Boyd, of Bridge Place, Manningtree, admitted three offences of making indecent images of children and was given an eight-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months, a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement and ordered to do 160 hours unpaid work and to pay £340 costs.
He was also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for ten years and ordered to sign the sex offenders register for the same period.
David Tremain, prosecuting, said the offences were committed between December 2019 and October 2020.
