Man jailed having been found guilty of a child sex offence in St Albans
A paedophile has been sentenced to a total of eight years and nine months in prison after he was found guilty of violently raping a six year old
At St Albans Crown Court on Monday 22 May, a jury found Shakir Rahman, aged 46, of Creighton Avenue, St Albans, guilty of the rape of a child who was aged under 13 years old.
On Wednesday 12 July, Rahman was sentenced to eight years and nine months in prison with an extended 12 months on licence.
The court heard how in June 2018, the victim, who was aged just six years old at the time, was raped and threatened by Rahman in St Albans.
