Man Jailed for Attempt to Communicate Sexually with Children

A man who used the internet and social media sites to attempt to communicate sexually with children has been jailed for over two years.

Sebastian Kacper Wojcik thought he was communicating sexually with girls aged under 16 when he committed the offences earlier this year.

But he was actually in contact with officers from the Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Organised Crime Unit (YH ROCU).

He was found guilty of a number of offences which took place between 20 January and 6 February.

These included attempting to communicate sexually with a child, arranging or facilitating a child sex offence and the possession and distribution of indecent images of children.

Appearing before Northampton Crown Court to be sentenced on Friday (7/7), Wojcik, aged 30, from Gold Street, Northampton, was jailed for a total of 25 months.

He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years and handed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
