Former Rhyl youth leader sentenced for sex offences against young boys

A 73-year-old former youth leader has been jailed for more than 10 years for sexual offences against two young boys.

Paul James Vaughan, of, Emlyn Grove, Rhyl, was sentenced at Mold Crown Court today after being charged with a number of offences dating from 1977 to 1984, during his time as a youth leader in Rhyl.

He admitted five counts of indecent assault against two boys and two counts of indecency with a child.

Vaughan was sentenced to a total of ten years and six months imprisonment and must register as a sex offender for life.

He was also indefinitely banned from working with children and adults.
