Sentencing of Portishead paedophile Mark Hemus put back

THE sentencing of a paedophile from Portishead that was due to take place this week has been pushed back.

Mark Hemus, 36, was scheduled to appear before a crown court judge this Friday (June 23).

But the hearing at Isleworth Crown Court has been postponed to a date to be confirmed.

Hemus has previously pleaded guilty to arranging or facilitating the commission of the sexual assault of a child.

The offence was in breach of a sexual harm prevention order he had previously been given by a court.

Hemus was arrested after arranging to meet an individual at a hotel near Heathrow who had access to a child for sexual purposes.

The case follows a National Crime Agency investigation.

Hemus had been due to be sentenced earlier this year, but that hearing was also put back by a judge.

Hemus has a record of previous offences relating to possessing indecent images of children.
