Man jailed for 18 years for child sexual offences

A man has been jailed for 18 years after being convicted of child sexual offences in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Dino Fiore, 38, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, abused the victim between February 2021 and May 2022.

Following a trial in April this year, Fiore was found guilty on two counts of rape of a child and two counts of inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity.

Judge Smith did not class the abuse as a “campaign of rape”. But he sentenced Fiore as an “offender of particular concern”.

He will serve two thirds of the sentence (12 years) before he can be considered for release by the parole board. After his release he will serve the remainder of the custodial term and an additional 12 months on licence in the community.

He was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. He was also made the subject of an indefinite restraining order which prevents him having any contact with his victim.
