Paedophile Met Police constable, 44, who sexually assaulted a young girl at a party is jailed for 30 months
A Metropolitan Police officer who sexually assaulted a young girl has been sentenced to 30 months.
PC Farhan Ghadiali, of Woodford Green, Essex, molested the girl through her clothing while off-duty in 2019.
The 44-year-old was found guilty of sexual assaulting a child under the age of 13 following an earlier trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Ghadiali, who was fired from his job with the Metropolitan Police earlier this month, committed the assault after drinking heavily at a party in the suburban Essex town of Buckhurst Hill.
Kate Davey, prosecuting, said that the girl had been ‘traumatised at every level’, ‘cries a lot, she’s very scared’ and has ‘self-harmed’ because of the assault.
Judge Christopher Morgan told Ghadiali: ‘This was a serious offence against a very young child.’
He said that the offence had ’caused her profound psychological issues’.
The judge said that Ghadiali’s conviction had brought his police career to an end, adding: ‘You may find it very difficult to find employment in future.’
He sentenced Ghadiali to 30 months in prison and made him subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The defendant showed no visible reaction or remorse as he was led to the cells.
Ghadiali, who was attached to the Central West Command Unit, had been suspended from duty since December 2020, the Met said.
He was dismissed without notice after a misconduct hearing earlier this month found that allegations against him were proven as gross misconduct.

Met Police officer sacked for sexually assaulting child at party in sick attack
A Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed without notice after being convicted of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13.
The force said a misconduct hearing found Pc Farhan Ghadiali, attached to the Central West Command Unit, had “breached the standards of professional behaviour”.
44-year-old Ghadiali of Woodford Green was found guilty of sexual assault on Friday March 24 at Chelmsford Crown Court following an investigation by Essex Police.
According to the Met, the jury found that Ghadiali, whilst off duty, had attacked the child in September 2019 at a party held in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.
He is due to be sentenced on Wednesday May 24.
He stood trial in May last year at Chelmsford Crown Court but the jury failed to reach a verdict. He was then found guilty at a retrial at the same court in March.
It was alleged at a misconduct hearing on Friday that Ghadiali’s actions amounted to a breach of the professional standards of behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct.
The Met said the panel found the allegations proven as gross misconduct and he was dismissed without notice.
