A Plymouth man has yesterday, Tuesday 16 May, been sentenced to eight and a half years in prison following the rape and attempted rape of a woman in Plymouth.
Daniel Pakeman, aged 29 and from Plymouth, was found guilty at Plymouth Crown Court in April 2023.
He received eight and a half years for one count of rape and six and a half years for one count of attempted rape, which are to run concurrently.
He will also be put on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
The offences took place in 2020 at a residential property in Plymouth and involved the same victim.
Following a full and protracted investigation by detectives, Pakeman was charged in 2022 and the case was transferred to court for trial.
The jury found Pakeman guilty of both counts and he was bailed prior to his sentencing.
