Pervert used internet to exploit victims for sexual gratification

A pervert caught with a sickening stash of indecent and sexual images of children has been put behind bars.

Police have welcomed the imprisonment of Gary Walsh, with detectives stating that he used the internet to ‘exploit vulnerable victims for sexual gratification’.

The 64-year-old appeared before Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, April 21, after being charged with vile offences.

Of these, three were of making indecent images of children (IIOC), one was of possessing IIOC and another was of possessing extreme pornographic images involving animals.

The court heard how between January 2021 and March last year, the Woolston defendant had in his possession 1,605 indecent photographs of children.

Of these, 338 were graded as category A – the most severe category involving child rape – while 369 were judged to be category B and 898 as category C.

Officers also found was in possession of an extreme pornographic image portraying a human in an act of intercourse with an animal, namely a dog.

According to the charge, this was ‘explicit and realistic’, as well as being ‘grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character’.

Walsh, of Hillock Lane in Woolston, was sentenced to 27 months in prison by the court.
