Paedophile used chatroom to try and persuade another to rape child
A depraved pervert has admitted trying to persuade another person to abuse and rape a young child.
Kyle Garner, 20, of Chester Road, Preston Brook, Runcorn, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday where he pleaded guilty to three offences.
Appearing in the dock wearing black, Garner admitted attempting to cause or incite a child aged 14 to engage in sexual activity on June 17, 2021, by asking to be sent nude photographs; arranging or facilitating an offence on December 1, 2021, namely an act which he intended would involve the commission of another person to abuse a child aged eight years old by penetration; and encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence on February 12, 2022, by asking another internet user to send him indecent images of children.
Cheshire Police said the “arranging or facilitating” offence related to activity discovered on a chatroom where Garner was trying to persuade others to offend, with no intended victim identified. The attempted incitement charge and purported 14-year-old girl related to an adult decoy.
Garner previously appeared at North Cheshire Magistrates’ Court in Warrington on March 21 where he indicated guilty pleas to seven further charges, most relating to indecent images of children (IIC).
These were counts of making 269 Category A IIC, making 272 Category B IIC, making 229 Category C IIC, distributing IIC, possessing 770 IIC in total, possessing seven prohibited images of children, and possessing “extreme pornographic” images involving animals.
The indecent image charges were from offences on April 1, 2022.
He was bailed in March with a requirement to sign the notification requirements, also known as the sex offenders register, with the police.
At Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, Garner was released on bail on the same terms to await sentence on May 26 with a request from Judge Simon Berkson for a pre-sentence report and consideration of the sentencing guidelines.
