Weymouth pervert punched sexual assault victim in face as she struggled to escape him

A Weymouth man punched his sexual assault victim in the face as she struggled to escape him during an attack in his home.

David Charles Owens, 55, assaulted the woman in his home in January 2022.

During the attack, Owens’ victim, who was his partner at the time, was reported to have repeatedly told him to get off her. However, he proceeded to sexually assault her.

When the victim struggled to escape Owens, he punched her in the face and left her with a broken nose.

He was subsequently arrested and an investigation was carried out by detectives from Dorset County CID.

Owens, of Weymouth, was convicted of sexual assault by penetration, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and breaching a non-molestation order.

He was sentenced to five years in prison on February 2 at Bournemouth Crown Court.
