Face of ‘horrendous’ paedophile who sexually assaulted girl over two years
A 54-year-old man who sexually assaulted a young Northamptonshire girl over a two year period has been jailed.
Spencer King was brought to justice after his victim “bravely” reported him to Northamptonshire Police.
King, previously of Banbury, began abusing the unnamed girl when she was younger than 13, and went on to rape her when she was a teenager.
The abuse continued for two years and involved seven incidents of sexual assault.
King was arrested and charged after the survivor reported the abuse to officers at Northants Police. But he repeatedly denied the allegations during questioning, meaning the case had to go to court.
The trial was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic but took place at Northampton Crown Court last year. King was faced by his victim during the trial, who told “him and the jury exactly what he had done to her.”
He was found guilty of seven counts of sexual assault, one count of sexually assaulting a girl under 13, and one count of sexually assaulting a girl aged 13-15 by penetration last November.
He was sentenced to nine years and six months in prison at the same court last Friday, February 3.
He was also handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a restraining order, which are both indefinite.
