Alun Eric Topp will now be behind bars for 32 months after pleading guilty to making and distributing indecent images of children and possession of extreme pornographic images.

The 48-year-old of Bexley Walk in Park South received this sentence at Swindon Crown Court on Friday.

Last year, police received information to suggest that a Twitter account that was associated to a telephone number believed to belong to Topp had uploaded indecent images online.

Officers then attended the defendant’s address on February 19 and arrested him.

A search was conducted of his home address and officers located 11 media devices which were seized for further analysis. 

Following further extensive enquiries, a total of 542 category A images were found – this refers to images depicting the most serious child abuse and child rape
