Ex Primary school Headteacher jailed

An Ex Primary school Headteacher has been jailed after being convicted of sexual offences against a child

Andrew Wilkie, from Buckley, North Wales appeared at Mold Crown Court where he was found guilty of two charges:

• Sexual assault of a child aged under 13

  Inciting or engaging a child or children into sexual activities

The sexual abuse and disgusting behaviour took place in a few locations including a swimming pool changing room

Wilkie denied the offences but was found guilty by the jury in his trial by a majority of 11-1

The judge sentenced him to:

• 18 months imprisonment

  10 years notification requirement

  To pay court costs

Wilkie had previously been jailed and struck off after stealing £51,000 of school funding money to pay for his gambling habit

He claimed his gambling habit was caused by a number of other allegations of a sexual nature by children dating back to 2012
