Paedophile jailed after sexually abusing two primary school-aged boys
Two primary school-aged boys who suffered sexual abuse have been praised for their bravery after reporting their attacker to police.
Paedophile Karl Kennett has been jailed after committing sexual offences against the two children in the Canterbury area.
Canterbury Crown Court heard the 28-year-old assaulted a young boy at a home in the Canterbury area in 2020.
The victim bravely reported the incident to his parents, who contacted police.
Officers were later made aware of separate, earlier offences against another victim, who was of a similar age to the first victim at the time the incidents took place.
Kennett denied the charges but was convicted of sexual assault against a child aged under 13 and two counts of causing a child aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity following a trial.
The 28-year-old, of Canterbury, was jailed for seven years on August 9 and ordered to serve an extra three years on licence following his release.
He was also made the subject of a 12-year sexual harm prevention order designed to prevent any further offending.
The first set of offences took place more than six years ago, at an address in the Canterbury area.
The second victim was then sexually assaulted at another address in the district in 2020.
Kennett was arrested in April that year, a week after the offences were first reported.
