Plymouth man avoids prison after attacks on children

A man from Plymouth has avoided a prison sentence after he violently attacked three children

Trevor Andrew Hare, 39 of Plymouth appeared at  Plymouth Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to: 

  • Common assault against one child aged under 16

  • Two counts of assault by beating against two children aged under 16

The court was told that Hare who has a history of violence lashed out at three young children with his fists. 

Hare last appeared in court in 2019, when he was fined after he assaulted a police officer as an emergency worker in the execution of his functions. 

The judge handed Hare a community order which included 150 hours of compulsory unpaid work 

He was told to complete a 30 day course called ‘building better relationship’ 

A rehabilitation activity requirement was also imposed
