First picture of vile sex beast that threatened victim with crowbar

This is the evil sex beast who threatened to “smack” a young woman with a crowbar before raping her after he broke into her apartment.

Daryl McCarthy was sentenced to 10 years last Friday.

And we can reveal how McCarthy – who eventually admitted the offences before his trial – whinged outside a police station at a protest months after he was charged.

The sex beast claimed he had his “own trouble” with officers who “harass” him.

McCarthy, of Whitechapel Crescent, Blanchardstown pleaded guilty to rape, oral rape and aggravated burglary after breaking into the victim’s west Dublin home at the time on December 2, 2019.

The brave victim said: “He destroyed my life. I’ll never be able to forget what happened.”

On the night, McCarthy broke into the then 19-year-old woman’s apartment through a rear window with a crowbar. At the time, she had been in bed dozing off to sleep when she heard the noise.

In a terrifying ordeal, McCarthy forced the woman to repeatedly perfom a sex act on him while holding the crowbar to the back of her head.

He later threatened to hit her with the weapon when she repeatedly declined to have sex with him, saying: “Do you want a smack of this.”

McCarthy told the woman she had two seconds to turn around or he would hit her.

She refused three demands to have sex with him.

In grave fear, the victim turned and McCarthy again held the crowbar at her back during the rape.

In her victim impact statement, the victim who is gay, said: “I said no but he ignored me even though my LGBT flags were hanging on the wall.”

After the attack, McCarthy warned her that if she opened her mouth he would come back.

Before leaving, he stole her phone, her flatmates’ plasma TV and a vest used for paintballing.

The traumatised victim made a complaint to the gardai after she made contact with her mother.McCarthy left a litany of forensic evidence behind including fingerprints as well as a footprint which cops could match to a shoe in his home.

The victim was also able to describe a tattoo on his leg.

McCarthy was arrested, questioned and charged in the same week but kept pushing his lie that the sex was consensual.

And months later, at a protest staged outside Blanchardstown Garda station over another issue, McCarthy took to the mic to claim he was a victim.

He said: “I have my own trouble with them. I have to come down every single day and sign the book. I have a curfew at 9 o’clock and they still harass me.”

Taking aim at investigators, he claimed: “They play the system and they think that we’re just going to sit back and take it? No. It’s not happening, you know what I mean. No way, no way.”

McCarthy continued with his lies for nearly two-and-a-half years before pleading guilty in April ahead of his trial.

The victim told how she has to live with the trauma of the rape everyday, suffering from flashbacks, nightmares, PTSD and panic attacks.
